It’s hard to believe another year is almost over. For many, it’s been a year of non-stop – albeit, exciting – twists and turns. Life at YPSM has been no exception to this rule. Just looking through our blog alone tells a unique story about how our business and team have transformed in such significant ways, which is now paving the way for another successful year ahead.

Yet, through it all, YP has stayed fiercely committed to its mission of connecting local businesses with local consumers. And our ability to deliver on this promise has a lot to do with both the people behind the scenes who tirelessly breathe life into our products and services and our incredible industry partners who are just as invested as we are in seeing YP’s success for years to come.

Let’s take a walk down “blog lane” to see some highlights from this year.

YP and BBB Team Up to Make Finding Great Businesses Even Easier

A big part of making our products and services more relevant and useful to consumers relies on our ability to provide them with content that makes it easier to find and choose the right businesses to address their immediate needs. Partnerships like the one we have with the Better Business Bureau allow us to both add depth to the content and increase the overall credibility of our business listings. Consumers want to get things done fast. By putting all of the information they need in one place to complete their tasks quickly and efficiently, we play our part in helping them get more done.

YP is Proud to Sponsor National Small Business Week

Being the champion for both local businesses and local consumers means playing an active part in the many initiatives throughout the year that celebrate small business growth. Our continued participation and support of efforts like National Small Business Week – and, more recently, Small Business Saturday – are examples of how we make local business our priority.

Being a Chief Technology Officer: What It Means to Me

The people behind YP are what truly make our business tick. In fact, we couldn’t do half of what we do without visionary leaders at the helm like Wendell Hicken, our Chief Technology Officer.

YP Sales Team Members Recognized for Outstanding Achievements

Our Sales team is second to none. We never flinch at any opportunity to celebrate their achievements – like this once-in-a-lifetime trip to see the World Series. We believe that our team members are the heart and soul of our business. By inspiring a more active, collaborative, and engaged culture within, we can make a bigger impact at every twist and turn.

YP Names Jared Rowe Chief Executive Officer

Now, a year of change wouldn’t quite be complete without a major change in leadership. And the arrival of Jared Rowe as our Chief Technology Officer has ushered in an exciting time for YP. With a new roadmap in place and some aggressive goals for the year ahead, we are certain that, under Jared’s leadership, YP will be better positioned to deliver on our mission than ever before.

Again, this is just a glimpse at a few of the exciting things that happened at YP in 2016. Feel free to scroll through the YP Corporate Blog to see what other fun stuff we’ve been up to – and be sure to keep on checking in through 2017 to see what amazing things we’ve got planned.
