YP is once again a proud sponsor of National Small Business Week, the signature event of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) that celebrates America’s small businesses, the jobs they create, and the people who champion their success. For more than 100 years, YP has been connecting local businesses with ready-to-buy consumers across the country. National Small Business Week is a time-honored tradition that aligns naturally with our company’s mission.

As part of our sponsorship, YP CEO, Jared Rowe, will attend the National Small Business Week kick-off and awards luncheon in Washington, D.C., honoring and celebrating the nominees from all 50 states in the running to win the title of 2017 “Small Business Person of the Year.”

Additionally, we are hosting a webinar entitled, “5 Fabulous Habits of Local Business Champions on Wednesday, May 3 and will have a presence at local SBA events around the U.S. You can keep up with the conversation as well as everything going on in celebration of National Small Business Week on social media by following #ypsmallbizweek and #SmallBusinessWeek.

This year, YP has made some big strides in equipping local businesses with better ways to connect with ready-to-buy consumers, including:

  • Newly designed business profile pages on yellowpages.com and in the YP app that feature more prominent reviews, photos, videos, and special offers.
  • The YP Preferred badge on business listings where a local business has provided more detail (photos, videos, etc.) on its business profile page to help consumers make more informed decisions when selecting a service provider.

These enhancements are already making a big impact for our clients. In fact, we’ve seen an average six percent drop in cost per lead for clients in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the first quarter of last year.
