YP’s Local Breakthrough Summit Ends With A Bang in the Bay Area
Back in March, YP℠ kicked off the Local Breakthrough Summit tour in Miami, an 8-stop tour that played host to over 1,000 local business owners across the country, inviting them to learn from and connect with experts in content, search, mobile, and social media marketing. And now after a whirlwind three months, we brought the Local Breakthrough Summit tour to a close on Wednesday at Club Auto Sport in the heart of Silicon Valley.
The venue was decked out in exotic cars – an à propos setting for a room full of small business owners who often feel as though they need to move at 100+ miles per hour in order to stay ahead of the competition, especially in the face of new technologies and disruptive innovations.
Matt Crowley, YP’s SVP of Sales, keynoted the standing-room-only event. The tech-savvy audience had lots of questions about how to maximize the impact of search and mobile advertising campaigns. Questions ranged from the role beacons can play for tracking location data to deploying geo-fencing tactics for enhanced audience targeting. Experts from YP, Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Verve were on-hand to answers these questions (and more!) during a panel discussion and one-on-one at the Breakthrough Bar.
The summit served as a refresher about what small business marketing is all about, well beyond the simple transaction of consumers searching for businesses and businesses hoping those searches send new customers their way. At the end of the day, it comes down to building relationships with people and within the community to help a small business thrive and grow.
This belief is at the core of YP. We are committed to helping real people grow real businesses and communities. Sharing knowledge and resources is one of the ways we deliver on this mission – and the Local Breakthrough Summit is a testament to this. And even though this tour is ending, we’ll continue to host and participate in a number of events designed specifically for local businesses throughout the year.
